The Hunter
Available Races: Dwarf , Night Elf , Orc , Tauren , Troll
Azeroth is home to a wide variety of beasts. From the new world of Lordaeron to the old world of Kalimdor, all manner of creatures can be found. Some are friendly, some are ferocious and aggressive - yet they all have one thing in common. Each creature shares a special connection with Hunters. Hunters track, tame, and slay all manner of animals and beasts found in the wild. Whether they rely on bows or firearms, Hunters consider their weapons and pets to be their only true friends.
Hunters are the ranged attackers in World of Warcraft. They excel at ranged weapons, such as the bow and musket. The class comes with a variety of powerful ranged combat moves which can only be used with ranged weapons. Since the Hunter can only wear leather armor until level 40 and has only a few melee abilities, the class is most efficient when at range. The Hunter also has the ability to lay traps for his or her enemies, and use ranged weapons to lure enemies into the traps.
The Hunter also possesses skills related to tracking down and taming wild beasts. Once tamed, the beast gets a name and becomes the Hunter's permanent companion. Hunters can store their pets in the stables, and can purchase additional slots in order to store multiple pets at once. To keep a pet happy, the Hunter must keep it well fed while it is in use. An unhappy pet may abandon its owner or even attack him or her! As Hunters gain levels, they will be able to tame higher level and presumably, a wider variety of beasts.
The Hunter has special abilities that allow him or her to take on aspects of a particular type of beast. For example, Aspect of the Cheetah allows the Hunter to run more quickly, but increases the amount of damage taken when struck. Aspect of the Pack allows the Hunter to extend this ability to his or her entire group, which can be very useful when traveling with a party. |
