The Warlock

Available Races: Gnome , Human , Orc , Undead

Warlocks were mages that delved too deeply into the roots of demonic power. Consumed by a lust for dark knowledge, they've tapped into chaotic magics from beyond the world. The Burning Legion now feeds them their powers, allowing them to channel destructive energies and call upon the powerful emissaries of their demon masters.

Through demonic chants and rites, the Warlock often summons foul minions from the Twisting Nether to do his or her bidding. Small, devious, and jittery, the fire engulfed Imp can oft be found accompanying their Warlock masters. For a creature of the Nether, it is fairly fragile, but its mastery of fire in both offensive and defensive suits serves its Warlock master well. In battle, opponents of the Warlock can find themselves pitted against the powerful and shadowy Voidwalker. This fearsome creature typically serves as a bodyguard for the Warlock as it can take vast amounts of physical damage before it is sent back to the Nether. The Warlock can also call upon the aid of an ancient evil, the Succubus. With her demonic knowledge of carnal desires, this creature can seduce and mesmerize an opponent into submission. It is rumored that there are powerful warlocks that can summon fellhunters and infernals as well...

The warlock's foul magics extend beyond the scope of merely summoning minions. In their arcane and sinister repertoire of abilities, the warlock can curse opponents with all manners of afflictions from agonizing pain, to weakness and even to a "jumbling of the tongue". The warlock can also draw upon an opponent's energies, and drain from them their life magical energy, and even their soul, which they trap in small gems called soul shards. These shards are used in many of the Warlock's foul rites, but are most often involved in the creation of healthstones and soulstones. These devices can be used to heal oneself and to bring oneself back from the dead, repsectively. In addition to these fearsome powers, the Warlock also has access to a host of many other magics to inflict suffering and pain upon his or her opponent to include damage over time afflictions, destructive area damaging spells, and the direct damaging shadowbolt.
